Job Title: Creative Services Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Division: Administration
Department: Marketing & Public Information
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Public Relations

SUMMARY
The Creative Services Manager is responsible for managing production workflow of the internal and external creative services of the marketing department. Serve as “account service rep” who manages fulfillment of requests for communication materials for all park staff. The CSM will generate and coordinate production level graphics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.

• Serves as liaison between Five Rivers and ad agencies, photographers and other creative service providers.

• Manages the workflow of all creative services production for all parks and departments along with coordinated efforts of the marketing team.

• Design of a wide variety of collateral.

• Creates procedures for account service implementation and task management.

• Establish and maintain business relationships with outside agencies, media and other vendors.

• Protects and promotes the MetroParks brand to the community and to staff.

• Performs writing tasks such as preparing reports, presentations etc, as necessary.

• Assist with writing, editing and proofing MetroParks promotional and development materials.

• Assists the Director of Marketing & Public Information in carrying out assignments as needed.

• Assists with coordinating and publicizing events, special projects, advertising and marketing efforts designed to keep the public informed of MetroParks’ programs, facilities and mission.

• Collaborates to develop the marketing efforts of other department’s and facilities.

• Takes advantage of new technologies to ensure MetroParks in reaching all audiences effectively.

• Assist in creating or translating advertising concepts into reality.

• Proof, quality-check files and pre-flight prior to printer release. Press check when appropriate or requested.

• Manages the housing, inventory and distribution of materials to the parks.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage marketing operating budget. Analyze and control expenditures, conforming to budgetary guidelines.

• Maintenance of MetroParks video and photo library. Assists with photographic needs.

• Maintains databases useful for MetroParks marketing and promotional communications.

• Participates in Speakers’ Bureau.

• Performs special projects and serves on special committees as required or assigned.

• Assists in the strategic planning for effective marketing and positioning of MetroParks to the general public and media.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, English, Writing, Journalism or related field. Five to seven years related experience preferred but not mandatory. Basic understanding of strategic marketing theories and practices needed. Must have experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Marketing/Event Administrator is an administrative position that coordinates national annual conferences, including marketing, sponsorship sales, press releases, annual awards and new publications.  In addition, the position provides administrative support to the Executive Director of the Education Law Association. 

The Education Law Association is a nonprofit, non advocacy organization founded in 1954 to provide an unbiased forum for the dissemination of information on current issues in education law.  The Education Law Association office is located on the University of Dayton Campus.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Basic:  The candidate in this role must have at least 4 years practical experience with national conference planning, including site selection, presenter assessment and scheduling, database creation, evaluation tracking and hotel negotiation.  Four years practical experience in publication marketing, press release creation and sponsorship sales.  Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to generate and maintain confidential information and to resolve matters of routine nature in support of the Executive Director, office staff and Board of Directors.  Independent judgment and the ability to perform assignments on own initiative.  This position will require travel several times per year and proof of a valid driver’s license with less than six points.

Preferred: Experience in a law office or academic setting is preferred as well as prior work within a nonprofit setting including fundamental knowledge and understating of nonprofit organizational functioning, policies, and procedures.
